A unique form of sound healing created in Japan more than 25 years ago, is now available in Asheville at the Harmonic Sound Healing Center.  Developed by Keiichiro Kita, founder of the Society for Harmonic Science, this modality combines music and vibrations to stimulate resonance throughout the body and brain, promoting an internal environment that fosters and optimizes one's innate ability to self-heal.

After many years of research in the field of sound engineering, Kita documented the significant beneficial impact of vibratory sound frequencies on the physical body and the mental state.  His extensive research has served to clarify the importance of regulating the autonomic nervous system as a way of activating a state of homeostasis, which promotes true health and well-being.

These treatments are particularly effective for conditions resulting from stress and emotional trauma, anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder and the pain resulting from poor circulation of blood, lymph and other fluids in the body.

The relaxing effect music has on the mind is amplified by combining it with the relaxing effect the vibration has on the body, making deep relaxation possible in a very short period of time.  This combination is experienced by the body at a cellular level.

Personally trained by Kita, Annie Hagen is the only certified sound healing therapist in the Southeast and is a member of the Society for Harmonic Science.
